About Ibiza

The word Ibiza comes from the native word “Eivissa”. ‘Eivissa’ is the formal Catalan name and the name used by its inhabitants. Ibiza is one of the most beautiful Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea, belonging to Spain. With its amazing cove beaches and high towering cliffs, densely covered with pine trees, mesmerizing sunsets, etc Ibiza is a perfect tourist destination.

The climate of Ibiza is Mediterranean and has milder winters but slightly cooler summers. The winters are generally mild with temperatures around 15 °C (60 °F) during the day and 8 °C (46 °F) at night. The hottest time of the year is July and August with temperatures reaching 30 °C (90 °F) most afternoons.

Ibiza is considered a popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary nightlife centered on two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the eastern shore and San Antoni to the West. Every year more than 4 million visitors come to the island, which has just under 100,000 permanent residents.
During the summer, well-known DJs perform at the various clubs on weekly schedules, in between touring to other international destinations. Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs within the house and trance genres of electronic dance music. A typical schedule for clubbers going to Ibiza includes waking at noon, early evening naps, late night clubbing, and "disco sunrises".

Besides being the clubbing capital of the world, Ibiza also has an amazing natural beauty, a superb climate and a World Heritage site. Though primarily known for its party scene, large portions of the island are registered as U.N. World Heritage Sites, and thus protected from the development and commercialization of the main cities.
A notable example includes "God's Finger" in the Benirràs Bay as well as some of the more traditional Ibicenco cultural sites. Because of its rustic beauty, companies and artists alike frequently use the island for photographic and film shoots. A monument ("The Egg") erected in honour of Christopher Columbus can be found in San Antoni: Ibiza is one of several places purporting to be his birthplace.

Ibiza definitely has something for everyone. So whether you want to lose yourself to the music of the world’s best DJs in Ibiza’s unmatched party scene or if you want to enjoy the astounding clear sea, warm sun, attractive coves and eventful beaches – or a bit of everything – you have certainly come to the right place.
Part of the Balearic Islands, Ibiza is a jewel in the Mediterranean Sea. You can explore the blissfulness of the island by day, party by night – all night – and then relax on one of the many divine beaches. Alternatively, you can party twenty-four-seven or take some out for the warm clear waters and lots of coastline with rich marine life, which makes Ibiza an amazing place for divers and snorkelling. Dive sites include cave diving and ship wreck diving.
